Vocal Coach
We are looking for a teacher who would specialize in teaching non-classical vocal music to students of all ages. An ideal candidate would have solid knowledge of popular repertoire that is out there right now, songs that children and adults are wanting to learn. Applicants must be able to keep up with the ever-changing pop-music scene in order to help select appropriate and timely music for students. Experience in musical theatre is also beneficial, but not required. Willingness to work with students who are also working with talent agencies is a must. Preparing students for auditions, performances, and competitions both within Academy of Sound and with other agencies would be one aspect of the vocal coach candidate. Ability to work with students who are learning voice as a hobby, and also who are learning for use in a career is a must. For example, students seeking a vocal coach may be looking for help with their vocals for use in a rock band, hip-hop group, metal band, etc. Intermediate or better piano skills required. We prefer a teacher who has performance experience with popular music. Starting pay is based on experience, $15-$17/hour.
